Who would love an opportunity to join us in Haiti this summer? We will be in Haiti this July for 9 days. We still have space for a few volunteers that would like to join us from July 25th-August 2nd.
What will we be doing?
Great question! This trip will be focused on working with the children and youth in the community. We will take a day or two to teach groups of children the importance of plants and trees. This will align with our agricultural project. We will be doing some hands on projects that relates to forestation and sustainable growing. Along with this program each child will be fed one meal which all volunteers will help assist with.
What do we do to come aboard this summer trip?
Trips cost $850 plus airfare and includes lodging, ground transportation, interpreters, meals and bottled water for the trip. Any remaining funds support SoudeHaiti’s general purposes.
Participants must be 18 years old by the time of the trip. If you would like to travel with your child under the age of 18 some accommodations can be made.
Each person will also need a valid passport to enter Haiti.
What should we expect?
Our community is about a 6 hour drive from Port-au-Prince. The roads are not paved for a majority of the driving time. We also provide humble, but safe shelter. Our facilities have working toilets and showers. But the area is still very primitive. Summer is also the hottest time of the year. Although our community is in the mountains be prepared for warmer weather during the day.
When do need to pay for our trip?
You may purchase your plane tickets when you are ready. But we ask that you pay your $850 no later than June 1, 2019. Once you are confirmed we will provide you with more detailed itinerary.
What is the next step?
Contact us through our contact page. Once we have your information we will reach out to you to begin the planning process.
Please consider traveling with us this summer to not only help volunteer but also to see what we are about!
